5:19 AM BRB Helloooo my lovely readers. I am currently on holiday at the moment so I probably wouldn't be able to blog during this time. However, do expect a lot of updates starting from July 10th as I would be back from my trip then. If you do wish to follow my short updates (eg what i have been up to, where i am currently, what are the latest beauty products that i have acquired, my new shopping buys and hunts) then please add me on twitter @ arethaseraph =). I will try to blog from time to time during my trip wherever i can and provided the place has internet connection! I am currently in Paris (my 3rd and final night here) and I will be off to Brussels tomorrow morning. Followed by Hamburg, Berlin, Munich, Venice, Rome, Milan and finally London. :) Out of the 350 euros that I had with me, I already blew more than half of it in a span of 3 days. :) Now this is bad because I still have a 3 week trip ahead of me. Hmmm this is when credit card comes in handy (sorry mummy!). The items I acquired so far more than half of which I got from Sephora were: 1) Urban decay primer potion in Sin (new and amazing and most importantly its not available in the uk) 2) Makeup forever Smoky lash ( i had to decide between this and Helena Rubinstein's lash queen feather light collection which came in a box set with a khol pencil. In the end i settled for this because this seems to be the hype of the moment) 3) Urban Decay book of shadows (just when i thought that i was out of luck finding this I managed to buy this on my flight to Paris on a budget airline ;) ) 4) Smashbox's o-gloss ( i didn't have the intention of purchasing it. i wanted o-glow but it was out of stock and then the lovely SA at sephora tried this on me and voila i had the prettiest bubblegum pink lips! the best part was the pink wasn't tacky at all ) 5) By terry e/s midnight blackberry ( i had wanted this e/s for awhile now so when i saw it at sephora i bought it. :) after all, by terry is one of my fav brands. however, i have to admit that i think that spacenk at uk might be abit cheaper due to the exchange rate) 6) Cream cotton tube dress from Sandro (www.sandro-paris.com) which is a french label! Very expensive - im not saying how much is it just in case mummy sees this lol But its lovely and i love it and i will post picture up on my blog soon. :) 7) Dior skinflash in #002 Candlelight i was bored at the cardiff airport and as i perused the shelves at the duty free i picked this up. :) What are your fav beauty products so far? And what are your latest purchases? :) with love from paris :) aretha Saturday, June 13, 2009
1:17 AM FOTD Yesterday night I went clubbing with my friends Azzy, Ys, Tasha and Rhys (new friends!). Before I left I didn't have time to snap a picture so I this picture was taken when I came back at 5am. Bear in mind that I was very sweaty when I came back but my makeup was still quite fresh thanks to the wonderful Rimmel stay matte pressed powder and Revlon Colorstay foundation. :) Both were bought from Superdrug and this goes to show that drugstore makeup can perform as well (if not better) than high ended products! I was suffering from a skin rash (still a little bit;not fully healed yet!) and the Revlon foundation didn't irritate my skin/cause me breakouts. Products used: Face: Revlon Colorstay foundation normal/dry skin #Buff (I know i posted up awhile ago that I bought the shade Ivory but since I tried Buff, I found that Ivory was not the right shade for me) Rimmel stay matte pressed powder #transparent Chantecaille total concealer #alabaster Cheeks: Benefit Benetint on apples of cheeks Eyes: Bare Minerals #Heart Bobbi brown sparkle e/s #Mica YSL Fauxcils mascara Bobbi brown gel eyeliner #black ink Rimmel brow pencil #hazel Lips: Benefit Benetint Benefit clear gloss (love this purely because of the sweet lychee smell!) More pictures up soon! :) Sunday, June 07, 2009
8:20 PM BVC Dinner ![]() with Mei mei. (possibly the person i will miss the most here) Miss you babe! I am in the midst of packing so my room is like a pigsty. Will be shifting out in a few days time so I might not update for awhile. Till then, have a great weekend everybody. Friday, June 05, 2009
7:15 PM FOTD well dressed and end of BVC Yesterday night was our BVC dinner and it was the dinner that marked the end of the BVC. It was the perfect excuse to slather on tons of slutty makeup and not look like you're trying too hard. :P For my makeup that night I went for simple sparkly eyes, pink blush and pinky brown lipstick. Initially I wanted to go for dark smoky eyes but I decided against it as we spent alot of time outdoors in the sun and I didn't think that dark makeup would be suitable. Hence, I went for a light fresh look. All in all i spent about 40minutes on my makeup (I usually spent 10mins). Blush was applied at least 3 times more (to prevent it from fading by the end of the dinner!)I. didn't have time to snap pictures before I stepped out of the house so the pictures below were taken when I came back; tired and sweaty. Products used: Face: Chanel blanc essential modelling base #Rosee La Prairie skin caviar foundation # Porcelain Blush La Mer skincolor the powder #Translucent Benefit Erase Paste #fair Cheeks: MAC Well dressed ( i love it so much) Eyes: Benefit lemon aid Urban decay eyeshadow primer potion MAC mineralize skinfinish # Redhead (light side as a wash all over lid) Bobbi brown sparkle eyeshadow #Mica ( all over lid) Bobbi brown gel eyeliner # Black ink YSL Fauxcils mascara Ardell babies falsies ( i took out the one on the right before i took the pics) Lips: Nivea strawberry lipbalm Maybelline lipstick #742 Thursday, May 28, 2009
8:24 PM Back in bristol Last weekend I was in nottingham to celebrate my brother's 21st bday. It was held at 'Red Hot' which is a continental buffet restaurant. The food was really very mediocre but the place was nice. Because my brother just received a Canon DSLR camera all of the pictures were taken with his camera. Still waiting for him to put them up on facebook before I can nick it to put them on my blog. I only took one picture there which is the one below. =) As you can see from the pictures below i am a lousy photographer (as what my brother calls me). Seems like my hopes of becoming a professional photographer ala Francois Nars (photographer turned makeup mogul) seems to be going down the drain. ******* Today I took my cam and snapped pictures of all the new clothing (dresses for summer!) that I have acquired in the past few weeks. I have not been clothes shopping in awhile so I am pretty happy with my purchases (and gifts from mum :) thanks mum!) Dress from GUESS. I actually forgot to turn off the flash hence my dirty mirror is exposed to the world. I love these shoes so much. They are from TOPSHOP. :) Layla Rose dress from Tokyo. (gift from mum) I will go crazy and spend thousands of dollars shopping for clothes when I am in Japan. The fashion there is just so much better than KL or UK. Not sure if you can tell from the pictures but I coloured my hair myself yesterday and although I hope it would be lighter i still quite like it. I am really thinking of experimenting more with DIY hair dyes. Its so much cheaper than having it done in a salon. All in all i only spent 10pounds for the color! Have a great week ahead everybody!
4:01 PM I did it again :P. (dyed my hair myself that is) I was getting sick of my ugly regrowth and fading color and since was having a 2 for 10pounds offer on their Loreal colors, I couldnt resist. However, I have to say that this time I love the color and that I am so pleased with myself. :P Its a light color (obviously) and didnt come out black like last time. I could only pray the whole time (when i was sitting on the toilet bowl to wait for the dye to 'spill') that it turned out right! I will of course show you how it looks like soon. :P Tuesday, May 19, 2009
11:46 PM Benefit play sticks review When I was first introduced to this by the SA at the Benefit counter at Boots I was not impressed. It was probably because he already tried on another foundation (Hello Flawlesswhich is their latest powder foundation) on my face before rubbing it off and then applying this one on top. Also, he probably color matched me to the wrong shade. Eventhough I am very fair skinned, I seem to think that the lightest shade #Jax is abit too pale for me so when the SA at the House of Fraser tried on #Spin the bottle on me, which is the second lightest shade I really loved it. Hence, I purchased it. =) I really love the lightweight texture of this foundation. Its light coverage (but buildable) and feels very comfortable on the skin. So far I have not noticed any allergic reaction to my skin (Yes Bare Minerals I am talking to you!) and I love how flawless my skin looks after a single application. Also, I don't have to powder my face after applying this foundation because apparently this foundation is a 'cream to powder' formulation. Travel friendly. =) Today I have on: Benefit play sticks #spin the bottle Benetint on lip and cheek (still obsessed) Nothing on the brows Bobbi brown sparkle e/s Ballet Stila major lash mascara (not very good but trying to use it up!) Peppermint patty nail lacquer (which I had on for the past 3 days and no chipping in sight!) And here are just some pictures to show you how smug I am. =P p/s~ my skin is slowly clearing up hence the many smiley faces. Have a great week! Monday, May 18, 2009
11:34 PM Curious I'm quite curious as to who reads my blog. To begin with I don't think I have that many readers except for my close friends but the next time you visit my page please leave a comment on the tagboard at the side with your name/blog url(if you have one). =)
9:23 PM MUA Swap and weekend shopping I have been looking for the MAC Power khol Raven and MAC MSF Northern Light for the longest time and finally i managed to swap it on MUA with another member so im really happy about that. =) I'm still waiting for my NARS Crazed and Blade Runner to come in the post from a MUA member from Aus so I will post pictures of them later on. Because my complexion is not good these days (bit patches of red rashes and a really big acne which is a shocker because my skin is usually quite clear)I will only do a FOTD when it gets better. Damn you mineral makeup (which clogged my pores)! =( I'm suspecting that I may be allergic to Bismuth (which is part of the ingredients in mineral makeup). It is improving slightly since I have been applying Elizabeth Arden's 8hr skin protectant every night. MAC Raven khol (Black khol with red pearl). Looks great with a smoky eye. ******* Last Friday I went to town with my friend and ended up with these because House of Fraser was having a 10% off beauty products. Play sticks #spin the bottle (light beige) and R.S.V.P (champagne color which is very pretty). Apparently the SA at benefit told me that the girls from Girls Aloud uses the play sticks foundation especially in their music videos. I do admit that I am not a massive fan of their music but I do like their style from their hair to their makeup to their dressing. Nicola Roberts is my fav. =) The cutest gift. A 'born to shop' keychain/handphone accessory from my friend Mei mei. She is so thoughtful. More FOTDs coming up as soon as my skin clears up again so stay tuned! |
